Young Carers

Young Carers

A Young Carer is someone under the age of 18 who helps look after, or care for a family member, relative or a friend. A young person that is aged between 16-25 years with caring responsibilities can also be known as a young adult carer.

Being a carer may get in the way of you doing well at school and stop you enjoying all the things that other children or young people do. To understand and explore Young Carer’s rights, please visit: NHS Young Carers.

As a Young Carer you give a lot of your time to others, however, it is very important to make time for yourself. You also have the right to be cared for, as every young person does. Have a look at these resources that may help give you advice and support.
